NILDO JOSÉ
The Casa Olaria NJ+ at CasaCor SP is a tribute by the Nildo José office (NJ+ arquitetos) to Brazilian ceramics, highlighting, in a complete 200 m² residence (125m² of house and 75m² of garden), the heritage of the country’s old pottery workshops and the importance of artisanal work in architecture.
Among the pieces selected by Nildo to compose the environment in the photo, from Novo Ambiente came the Bernard armchair, designed by Shane Schneck for the Danish Hay Design, which is now part of the Herman Miller Brasil portfolio. It has a solid wood structure (oak or beech) and comes with a removable cover in leather (as in the photo, in terracotta tone) or canvas, serving as the seat.

BC ARQUITETOS
The 33rd CasaCor SP 2021 opens to the public tomorrow renewed, with 56 environments at an unprecedented address, and Novo Ambiente is present in several of them.
Recognized for their authentic projects that follow clean and timeless lines, where works of art and design pieces gain prominence in the décor, the BC Arquitetos office, led by Bruno Carvalho and Camila Avelar, participates in CASACOR SP 2021 with the Casa Alva project—a kind of monochromatic box filled with cutouts, curves, and textures, which emphasize the connection with nature through the presence of elements such as water, wind, fire, and light.
The Oslo modular sofa, created by Giorgio Buonaguro, is available in various sizes and configurations.
The iconic Zeca armchair was designed in the early 1960s by José Zanine Caldas and reissued in 2017, maintaining the original characteristics, in solid wood. The name is the designer’s childhood nickname.

MELINA ROMANO
Designed by Studio Melina Romano at CASACOR São Paulo, Casa Alma brings as its concept the idea of instigating different perceptions and feelings of visitors in each environment. See in the photos the suite of the house, named Well-Being, furnished with two important pieces of signed furniture, provided by Novo Ambiente.
With generous proportions, extremely comfortable and with a visual inspired by the traditional Japanese fan, the Uchiwa armchair is a creation of the London studio for the Danish brand—which is now part of the Herman Miller Brasil portfolio.
The Porto side table, designed by Estudio Rain, has a robust base and design inspired by the weight and scale of anchoring elements.
The Zeca armchair designed in the early 1960s by José Zanine Caldas, the Zeca armchair (his childhood nickname) brings some of the unmistakable marks of the master woodworker’s work. In 2017, the piece, manufactured in solid wood, received a new edition and has just been chosen by Studio Melina Romano to compose the living room of Casa Alma.

STUDIO RO+CA
The architects Carlos Carvalho, Rodrigo Beze, and Caio Carvalho, from studioro+ca, created at CasaCor SP the Casa Égide (which means shelter, support, and protection), an 80-square-meter space designed to be an annex to a main house. With a U-shaped format, the construction faces an internal courtyard with a garden that, in addition to reinforcing the feeling of welcome, proposes a direct connection between living and nature.
In the bedroom setting, the Cuca armchair stands out, with a high backrest, an iconic piece by master Zanine Caldas, provided by Novo Ambiente. Notice how the mustard-toned upholstery creates an interesting counterpoint to the sober color palette predominant in the project, such as black, wood tones, and sand. The piece is a creation from the 1950s that was reissued in 2016 and its name is a tribute to the designer’s daughter (Cuca).

ANDREZZA ALENCAR
Interior designer Andrezza Alencar makes her debut at Casa Cor with Estúdio Raiz, a 55m² space that prioritizes multifunctionality, with integrated environments and different uses—working, relaxing, entertaining, and studying, as the “new normal” demands.
Novo Ambiente is present in the dining room with wine cellar through the Meshmatics Chandelier pendant lamp (designed by Rick Tegellaar for the Dutch Moooi), which imposes itself in the space in a delicate and sculptural way. Notice how the piece was designed to resemble an inverted fishing net. A combination of brass and steel wires that intertwine in a sophisticated way creates a surprising mesh effect that generates a surprising glow in any environment.

GREGORY COPELLO
The Bahian architect Gregory Copello makes his debut at Casa Cor São Paulo with Quarto Noah, which means a place full of peace that spreads good feelings. The project—which proposes a connection with ancestrality linked to the “original house”—makes use of earthy tones and natural elements, such as fibers, stones, woods, and unique artisanal finishes—to create a contemporary, rustic, and relaxing space, all at once.
From Novo Ambiente came the Arco armchair (from Estudio Rain), as well as two creations by designer Bruno de Carvalho: the Selfish spheres (set of 7 sculptures of varying dimensions that can be used as wall installations or coat racks) and the Disco side table, with a round top in natural cork and base painted white (also available in polished brass and black cork).

KIKA TIENGO
In her debut at Casa Cor SP, architect Kika Tiengo presents the Hall Abluo (“abluo” means cleansing, purification), a space that previously served only as a passage and gained prominence with the pandemic. After all, it is in the hall that we wash our hands, take off our shoes, leave the world behind, and enter our nests.
In the décor, the combination of green, pink, and earthy tones brought an atmosphere of purity. From Novo Ambiente came the Rosa Maria bench, designed by Bruno de Carvalho, with elongated stainless steel legs that balance the three-seat bench in freijó, dressed in natural soleta leather.
TRÉS ARQUITETURA
This year, architects Fernanda Morais, Fernanda Tegacini, and Nathalia Mouco, from Très Arquitetura, present at Casa Cor SP the space “Aconchegos Portinari,” a 200m² house with neutral and fluid environments that has coziness as its main concept. With a clear and soft palette and furniture with light lines, the project brings references to a minimalist atmosphere, highlighting important pieces of signed design.
This is the case of the Quadrada armchair (with cane backrest, set in the bedroom) and the Locomotivo tea cart (featured in the living room, in front of the impactful tapestry), both designed by Bruno de Carvalho and provided by Novo Ambiente.
PEDRO LUIZ DE MARQUI
The Bird table lamp is a creation by designer Bernhard Osann for NemoLighting. Its slim, arm-shaped visual features an LED light source embedded in the top of the structure itself, an intermediate rod that serves as support for the assembly, and a brass base that functions as a counterweight, allowing the piece to oscillate or rotate on its own axis, returning to its original position. IN TOWN
With 120m², the Loft do Colecionador designed by architects Alexandre Gedeon and Hugo Schwartz from InTown Arquitetura at Casa Cor São Paulo has fully integrated spaces that encourage family and friends’ interaction, decorated with art of the highest quality. From Novo Ambiente came the Lonzo modular sofa, designed by Jayme Bernardo, with a metal base in painted carbon steel sheet, available with upholstery in fabric or leather.

In the bathroom of Loft do Colecionador there is space for Brazilian signed design furniture. Provided by Novo Ambiente, the Long bench is a creation by designer Zanini de Zanini with a robust seat in solid wood, which acquires lightness thanks to the metal sheet legs. Also recommended for living room division, support at the foot of the bed, and entrance hall setting.
