Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf’s creation for Herman Miller revolutionized the way we see a work chair

Nearly 30 years and one remastering later, it would not be absurd to say that the Aeron chair is an icon of American culture not only for revolutionizing the way people see a work chair, but for bringing with it an unparalleled combination of personality and well-being.

Created by the duo Don Chadwick and Bill Stumpf for Herman Miller, the first version landed on the market in 1994 proposing new solutions for balanced body support in unprecedented materials. Such impact was recognized by different museums around the world, such as MoMA in New York, which made the chair part of its permanent collection.

Two decades later, it was remastered under Chadwick’s supervision based on the latest research on the science of sitting, in addition to incorporating advances in materials, manufacturing, and technology.

Available in mineral, carbon, and graphite colors and with various combinations of components, the Aeron is distributed by Novo Ambiente in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Omnipresent in the most important offices around the world, the chair did not take long to star in films and series, composing narratives that became rooted in American culture. With that in mind, we have selected 11 spots of the Aeron in films and series. Check them out:
