Etéreo Centerpiece
Blown crystal is worked at around 900ºC to 1000ºC, when in its incandescent state it is free to assume a new form. It is a liquid denser than water that flows, contracts and expands with ambient temperature; it is not static, it is a material in constant movement even in its solid state.
Upon solidifying, crystal reveals its primordial characteristics of receiving and transforming light.
The dialogue between blown crystal and designer Jacqueline Terpins lies in her interpretation and guidance of the natural movement of this raw material. The result translates into organic forms and the investigation of layered overlays, color fusion and different levels of transparency.
