Ferruccio Laviani

Ferruccio was born in Cremona, in the Italian countryside, in 1960 and 26 years later received his degree in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan. The rest of his story is well known to those who love Italian design. He has signed his name to works for major brands, the most prominent being Kartell, a company for which he has served as artistic director for nearly three decades. Early in his career, he worked alongside Michele De Lucchi, but in 1991 he decided to open his own studio in Milan. His work ranges from furniture design to architecture and museum curation – in 2015, Laviani developed a new concept for the Kartell museum in Noviglio. In furniture design, his pieces are highly versatile. Ferruccio Laviani works with all types of materials and all styles: from wood to plastic.
