Kartell’s Small Dune Tray is a tray designed to move those who see it, admire it, and observe it. Why have a tray just to carry objects when it can be so much more? It can stir emotion. And that is how the Dune Tray was created, with chromatic and luminous intensity on the top surface where objects are placed. It is a magical three-dimensional illusion. The Dune Tray is like a current, a river of lava, the flame of fire—images animated by the whims of wind and light. Like ocean waves, desert dunes, the shifting reflections of silk. The first offspring—these trays in rainbow colors—of a family of small objects, designed and conceived to create unexpected emotions. Despite the optical illusion, its surface is perfectly smooth.
