What Milan 2026 reveals about design today
Milan Design Week remains one of the most closely watched moments
on the international calendar because it helps us perceive, on an
amplified scale, where design is moving.
Some of the highlights selected by Novo Ambiente point toward the
same movement: an interest in more immersive experiences, in
materials that build atmosphere, and in pieces and installations that cease

their presence in the city.

NOVO AMBIENTE AT MILAN DESIGN WEEK
Moooi at Superstudio Più
Moooi brought the Moooi 25 and Promising project to Milan, marking the brand’s 25th anniversary with a large-scale installation at Superstudio Più and parallel activations at its Milan space.
The selection for this edition draws attention for the way the brand articulates
imagination, technology, and atmosphere within a single language.
Novelty, scenery, and narrative appear integrated into a continuous
experience, where revisited icons, new designs, and environments help
to build a very distinct visual universe.
Kartell at Salone del Mobile
In the 2026 edition, Kartell presented a narrative at Salone del Mobile built around the idea of a blank page, understood by the brand as the beginning of a new chapter involving research, experimentation, and milestones from its repertoire.
The stand was organized by themes such as matter, lines, value, proportion, structure, texture, air, space, and perspective, proposing a layered reading between form, surface, and experience.
The interest here lies in seeing how Kartell continues to renew its repertoire without losing recognition, maintaining a clear language even when opening space for new paths.
Louis Vuitton at Palazzo Serbelloni
At Palazzo Serbelloni, Louis Vuitton presented an exhibition that brought together new Objets Nomades, its collection of home pieces signed by guest designers, alongside a tribute to Pierre Legrain.
The presentation highlights a front that the brand has been consolidating in design: the convergence of technical heritage, craftsmanship, and contemporary creation.
Among the names involved are Raw Edges and Estudio Campana, in pieces that explore matter, texture, and visual construction with significant presence.
More than just gathering novelties, the exhibition draws attention for the way it articulates object, environment, and staging within a single narrative.
Lina Ghotmeh at Palazzo Litta
With Metamorphosis in Motion, Lina Ghotmeh proposed an installation where the space is completed through the journey. Presented at Palazzo Litta by MoscaPartners, the project was described as an immersive environment with modular structures, living areas, sound, and aroma.
The gesture is interesting because it shifts attention from the image to the experience. Architecture ceases to assert itself as an autonomous object and begins to be completed by the body, time, and the presence of those who walk through the installation.

cc-tapis x Fornasetti
In the collaboration between cc-tapis and Fornasetti, the graphic imagination of the Fornasetti universe gained material depth in the (META)FISICA installation. According to cc-tapis, the exhibition is organized as a labyrinth through six rooms and features a new rug collection developed with the Italian brand.
The interest here lies in seeing the brand’s well-known designs move beyond the flat plane and begin to construct the space. It is a fine example of how pattern, visual memory, and materiality can build experience rather than just ornamentation.
Nilufar Grand Hotel
On Via Lancetti, Nilufar Depot was transformed into the Nilufar Grand Hotel during Design Week. The proposal stems from the logic of a fictional hotel, built through curated environments and the coexistence of contemporary pieces and vintage furniture.
The strong point lies precisely in this encounter between the environments created by David Nicolas, Filippo Carandini, and Allegra Hicks and the vintage furniture selected by Nilufar. Instead of radically separating past and present, the exhibition explores continuities, tensions, and affinities.
