We initially developed the Plant Chandelier for our solo exhibition ‘The Industrial Essence of Kranen \/ Gille’ at Het Noordbrabants Museum. We created several design pieces, including the chandelier, which was recently acquired for the museum’s permanent collection. <\/p>\n
The philosophy behind its design is the imitation of nature’s architectural structures while surrendering to the poetry of its beauty. Inspired by the linear patterns of Karl Blossfeldt’s plant photography and unrestrained by cables or wires, the chandelier flows elegantly toward the ceiling. Its silhouette follows the anatomy of sun-kissed tree branches, with a golden glow, converging into frosted light domes. <\/p>\n
