The Vortex side table represents a harmonious fusion of organic nature and contemporary elegance. This design challenges traditional limitations by incorporating fluid, sinuous lines into the robustness of solid wood, resulting in a truly unique and innovative piece. The central concept is a stylized representation of a vortex, a natural phenomenon that inspires movement and dynamism. Solid wood is CNC-machined and masterfully crafted to create smooth curves and continuous forms, mimicking the fluidity of a vortex in motion. This aesthetic approach seeks to convey a sense of movement and vitality to the piece, transforming it into a functional work of art. The fragmented wood technique is employed with precision to bring the designer’s vision to life. Each piece of wood is strategically placed to form a cohesive, integrated pattern while maintaining the structural integrity of the base. This not only highlights the artisanal craftsmanship involved but also addresses the challenge of sculpting fluid forms in a solid, robust material.
