Twist Vase
Blown crystal is worked at around 900°C to 1,000°C, when, in its incandescent state, it is free to take on a new shape. It is a liquid denser than water that flows, contracts, and expands with ambient temperature; it is not static—it is a material in constant motion even in its solid state.
As it solidifies, crystal reveals its essential ability to receive and transform light.
The dialogue between blown crystal and designer Jacqueline Terpins lies in her interpretation and guidance of this raw material’s natural movement. The result translates into organic forms and an exploration of layered overlaps, color fusion, and different levels of transparency.
