The kimono is a traditional garment, and the “Obi,” the kimono sash, is its most important and beautiful component. The choice of fabric, the dyeing in vivid colors, the delicate embroidery, and the tying styles indicate the occasion, show consideration for the other person, and allow an understanding of the uniqueness of this culture. The sash that embraces the frame and the cords along the Obi line provide the experience of sitting comfortably in a light, slender piece.
