Most storage units feature interiors designed with proportions from decades ago. Recognizing this issue, Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld set out to create an intelligently edited matrix of modules that effectively responds to all current needs. “We emptied our office cabinets, put everything on the floor, and asked ourselves, ‘What are the ideal cabinet sizes to store these things?’ The printers, the folders, the pencils, even the trash cans,” he said. Once the right scale was established, he began designing a system to combine modules so they could adapt to the appropriate heights of a sideboard or desk.

Creating Domino from the inside out by no means meant that Weinfeld neglected the exterior. The beauty of the detailing and craftsmanship is evident throughout: from the artistic wood application to the mitered corners. Domino is finished on all sides and can serve as a divider between living and dining rooms, as well as in open offices. It is available in heights of 66 and 101 cm, two, three, or four units wide, and six formatting options.
