Calle Ocho Armchair
This armchair is a memory of a time I lived through. I began working in woodworking in Miami in the early 80s, repairing boats in the South River marinas and learning naval carpentry. My brother and I lived in the Cuban neighborhood of Little Havana, where a worn-out 60s armchair was the most comfortable and sought-after piece in our small house. The piece was left behind in time and space, but the memory endured and inspired a revival, including more intricate joinery, the addition of leather straps, and refined upholstery to ensure the Calle Ocho Armchair is even more cozy and comfortable than the one I remembered.
