Naoto Fukasawa was born in Yamanashi in 1956 and, after graduating from Tama Art University in 1980, worked at Seiko Epson. He designed countless products for emerging companies and for many well-known companies in the computer and communications world. Since then, year after year, he has won several design awards in Europe and the United States. Since 2001, he has been a consultant for Muji’s design division. In 2003, he started his own business and founded Naoto Fukasawa Design, and worked on the design of a mobile phone, INFOBAR, which became so famous that it influenced the market for mobile phone designs in Japan. In 2005, he became a professor at Musashino Art University, Tama Art University, and the University of Tokyo Graduate School.
