Fabio Novembre
Fabio Novembre was born in Lecce in 1966. In 1984, he moved to Milan, where he graduated in Architecture from the Polytechnic University. In 1992, he lived in New York, where he attended a film course at New York University. During his stay in the United States, he met Anna Molinari and created his first interior design project for her: the “Anna Molinari Blumarine” store in Hong Kong. In the same year, he opened his studio in Milan. Collaborations with leading design companies intensified over the years—Cappellini, Driade, Meritalia, Flaminia, and Casamania, to name only the most important—while simultaneously designing showrooms and boutiques for the top international fashion brands of the moment, such as the Tardini store in New York, the Blumarine stores in London, Singapore, and Taipei, as well as Meltin’ Pot and Stuart Weitzman stores worldwide, from Rome to Beijing. In 2008, the Municipality of Milan dedicated a solo exhibition at the Rotonda di Via Besana called “Teach me the freedom of swallows,” while in 2009, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan invited him to create a personal exhibition titled “Il Fiore di Novembre.” In 2010, the Municipality of Milan commissioned him for an exhibition within the Italian Pavilion for the Shanghai Expo. 2011 was the year of photography; after serving as artistic director for the “Lavazza con te partirò” exhibition at the Teatro dell’Arte at the Milan Triennale for the company’s 20th calendar anniversary, he designed and curated the Steve McCurry exhibition at MACRO Testaccio, Rome. In April 2012, he designed the new display for the fifth edition of the Triennale Design Museum.
