BCXSY
Collaboration and interdisciplinary dialogue are fundamental to BCXSY’s creative approach, culminating in the studio’s ability to design in a way that invites its audience to pause, connect, and interact. BCXSY (pronounced ‘/bi-k-see/’) is an Amsterdam-based design collective founded in 2007 by Boaz Cohen (IL/NL) and Sayaka Yamamoto (JP). The delicate yet deliberate details in their work are infused with subtle elements of surprise, wit, and humor, contributing to its innately engaging quality. Through personal and collective reflection, the studio provides its partners with representations of distinct perspectives and shared values. With an extensive archive ranging from furniture to wallpaper and installations, BCXSY’s conceptual aesthetic remains rooted in emotion and human experience. BCXSY has gained recognition for its socially responsible projects, and its award-winning designs can be found in the permanent collections of the V&A, the Shanghai Museum of Glass, the TextielMuseum, and M+. The studio has also partnered with world-renowned names such as H. Stern, Kvadrat, Laboratorio Morseletto, J. & L. Lobmeyr, Philips Lighting, Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Wallpaper* Magazine, Design Museum Holon, Domaine de Boisbuchet, Calico Wallpaper, Ace Hotel, Grand Seiko, and many more.
