Artemide relaunches Alcinoo fifty years after its original design. Created in collaboration with Patroclus, the piece shares the same artisanal technique of blown glass molded within a metal structure.
In Alcinoo, the metal structure follows a regular format, forming a cylindrical volume that opens into a fluid glass sphere at the top.
The essence of the materials and their fabrication methods define the design. Each piece is handmade, through the interaction between glass and metal, in a balance between lightness and solidity.
The metal structure softens the view of the three internal light sources, filtering the light and casting delicate shadows on the surface. Just like Patroclus, Alcinoo gains life through light.
