Research shows that by the end of 2021, 30% of the global workforce will work remotely, several days a week, leading to a significant increase in what has become popularized as ‘calls’.
Offices with large, open spaces typically lack a variety of meeting rooms and quiet spaces to work, limiting the ability to conduct video calls with peace of mind and privacy, which is a serious problem in the current context, as video conferencing calls have become a central facet of business.
It was from this context that Framery decided to create a product that would solve this and other evolving workplace needs and developed a solo space for working and also conducting efficient video conferences. Named Framery One, it is the world’s first fully connected phone booth.
Distributor of Herman Miller and Framery for São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Novo Ambiente now offers its clients another corporate solution that responds to the needs of offices impacted by COVID-19
Smart settings for modern workers
Every component that makes up the Framery One design is based on extensive customer experience research using comprehensive data. The pod features a virtual ecosystem supported by unparalleled technology. With a high-resolution touch screen and seamless user interface (UI), users can control bookings, airflow, and lighting.
Users can also integrate their calendar app so that bookings can be made quickly or, if the pod is available for free use, they can enter and the space will be automatically reserved. The UI will display a message on the screen alerting the user when the time slot is almost over. If there are no other bookings, the pod will automatically extend the session so the user can continue working without interruption. Accessories also include wireless charging, an electrical outlet, and a USB port.
“Framery One is the most innovative and distinctive individual workstation on the market,” said Framery’s Head of Products, Lasse Karvinen. “COVID-19 has reestablished our need and desire for personal workspace. Framery One is a unique platform for productivity and will allow employees to complete tasks and video conferences in a comfortable, quiet environment. The product is an adaptable workstation for an adapting workforce, and we are very excited for the world to experience it,” he adds.
The desk, screen, and coat rack feature Framery’s distinctive design DNA – a well-fitted arch. Both the seat and desk can be easily adjusted, with footrests on the floor and attached to the seat to keep users comfortable for extended periods.
The pod’s interior transforms into a standing workstation for those who prefer to stand if the seat is left out. Ventilation will keep users feeling refreshed and focused. Framery One’s ventilation rate is 29 liters per second, more than four times higher than recommended for indoor spaces.
Designed for today, built for tomorrow, Framery One will improve over time thanks to intuitive software that keeps the pod’s system updated as technology evolves. Its future-ready modular design ensures the pod can be upgraded as new technology specifications or work methods become the norm.
Furthermore, sustainability has always been at the heart of Framery’s mission. Framery One’s structure is built in steel, with a total of 95% of the materials used in this highly durable pod being recyclable. The steel also ensures the structure is fireproof.
Due to its efficient design, Framery One occupies a small footprint in the office, yet feels spacious inside for the user. The pod has casters for mobility, allowing users to rearrange it within the office as needed over time.
As it can be difficult to reorganize an office without renovating it, especially amid a pandemic, this feature allows the product to be more adaptable and flexible to user needs without major structural interventions.
Additionally, Framery One has received an excellent quality rating under the new ISO 23351-1 standard for acoustic insulation. Users never need to worry about private conversations interrupting coworkers, even if the pod is near desks.
The product is available in eight timeless colors, including White, Gray, Black, Blue, Green, Sand, and Navy Blue. The design team has also created a variety of fabrics for lining carpets, seats, and desks, so this ‘cocoon’ can be adapted to the company’s specific style.
Management and optimization with Framery Connect
The new digital pod management system comes equipped with Framery Connect, a system that keeps Framery One running efficiently. Automatic alerts for maintenance needs ensure issues are resolved quickly due to direct access to Framery.
If problems arise, Framery’s customer service support can be easily accessed by email or phone. Framery Connect also provides a comprehensive view of how Framery One is being used so managers can understand the pod’s utilization rate in an office and its return on investment.
