Designer Freddy Van Camp is considered by many to be a master of his profession (something he finds a complete exaggeration), accumulating awards throughout his successful career. He graduated from Esdi (Superior School of Industrial Design) in 1968, with postgraduate studies at UCLA-USA and HfBK Braunschweig-Germany. He worked at several companies until establishing his firm, Van Camp Design, in 1980, of which he is a founding partner. He moved to Campinas-SP from 1982 to 1992 and was a professor at UNICAMP from 1984 to 1992. He returned to Rio de Janeiro, where he lived until 2013.
