Ron Arad is Israeli, from the capital Tel Aviv, the son of artists (his mother a painter and his father a photographer). He attended the Jerusalem Academy of Art until the early 1970s. In 1974, he settled in London, where he enrolled at the Architectural Association under the direction of Peter Cool and Bernard Tschumi. With classmates such as Nigel Coates, Peter Wilson, and Zaha Hadid, he moved closer to the world of art and culture, showing an interest in design and the new aesthetics of materials.
